A little bit of everything.

Be kind,
for everyone you meet
is fighting a hard battle.
-Plato

Hm, I like starting with a random quote. I may do this more often.

What?! This is an actual update from the World of Cassie? ...so rare...so interesting...so past due!

I have no excuse for not updating. Almost every night for the past couple of weeks have been devoted to the complete series of Gilmore Girls (a birthday present from my sisters), which could have been watched while blogging. Oh, well. I just started season 6... two full seasons until the end! Because it's of importance of the kind of person I am: I am pro Jess, anti Dean; pro Luke, anti Christopher (or any other man for that matter); and although I am pro Jess, Logan is my favorite pick for Rory.

Other than that, I haven't been doing much lately, just hanging out with friends and working. It's not a glamorous life, but I am blessed with great friends, so I can't really complain about that.

I had a really bad stye under my eyelid for two straight days. It made my eye swell so that it would only open halfway, obscurring my vision and making me look like Rocky. ("Yo, Adrian!") It is finally getting better, but it is still a little swollen. Man, it hurt like Hades.

Ash and Jake had an incedent happen to them. Ash was cooking dinner and accidentally started a grease fire. If Jake hadn't walked in at that moment, the house would have caught fire. Jake got the fire under control and put out, but not without a few battle scars. His left arm, both of his hands, and the left side of his neck/face got burned. It wasn't severe, thank God, but it did do some damage. Poor Jake had to keep putting aloe on to soothe the burning sensation. God is healing him very quickly. This happened Saturday and he is so much better than before.

---

I wrote that yesterday and I wanted to separate that from today. It was a good day.

Being off of work always makes for a good day, but this was an especially great day off. Of course, I watched a few episodes of Gilmore Girls this morning while we had tile being put in the bathrooms, loudly I might add. Around lunch time, I went to my grandpa's and cleaned out my car. Finally. It was disgusting. I then drove to the car wash and gave LJ a good shower. He sure needed it. After, I vacuumed out the inside and now LJ is bright, shiny, and clean! I was proud.

I rewarded my excellence with trip to McKay's for a few good DvDs. That really put me in the mood to do something crafty. I had in mind exactly what I wanted to do, but the Walmart I went to didn't have what I needed, so I settled on the next best thing. (I may show you guys pictures in a future post.) I made it for Ash and she hasn't seen it yet, so I don't want to give it away right now, but I think it's pretty cool. I even made one for myself.

I decided that is what I want to do. I want to make things, decor type things. How awesome of a job would that be?!

Anyway, I ate with Leah at Moe's (YUM!) and then it was off to the movie with her and Chris. It is Wednesday which means dollar movie day at the cheap theater! One of the best inventions known to man. We saw The Tourist. Incredible movie. In the beginning, I was a little unsure about it but it got better as time went on. The twist is what made it great. Ah, I loved it!

This whole day has just been awesome. The weather was perfect, my spirits were high, and the company was excellent. I need more days like this one.

Scrap Paper.

Because I can not collectively get a thought together for a mind blowing blog post right now, I am going to use this post to write down a few stories of my recent life.

We finally started back our regular work day schedules at my office. Tuesday, which had been my first day off in two weeks, was glorious. I finally got to sleep a little later and lay in bed until I felt like getting up. Two weeks may seem like no big deal, but it seriously messed up my sleeping schedule. I stay up late every night anyway, but having almost every third day off helps me reboot. Being deprived of that luxury wore me down. So anyway, on Tuesday when I did finally get up and get ready, I went shopping. Not for clothes or shoes or anything stupid like that, I went DvD shopping. :) I went to BlockBuster (they are going out of business), McKay's, and Target (where I also bought a super cute cross-body purse.. it's yellow!). I ended up with nine total that day.

My other day off this week was today. It was rainy and cold and wonderful. My internal clock woke me up at 8 and would not let me go back to sleep, so I layed in bed and watched Under Wraps on Mac (he and I love to watch old Disney Channel movies). After while, I made a trip to Walmart where I got two more movies and the supplies to color my hair. Also, I stopped by BlockBuster again and bought two movies from them. (4 today!) I colored my hair "Nutmeg" which just means dark brown. Though, I can't tell much of a difference from the hair I had before. Oh well.

Leah and I had a roommate date tonight. The always yummy Panera fed us a delicious meal to energize us for our trip to the mall. She bought a few things and I left with nothing. I seem to always talk myself out of buying anything, besides movies. Right now, I am waiting for her wax pot to heat up so she can wax my eyebrows. She is a goddess when it comes to waxing. Seriously. Go see her. We also are planning to watch a girly movie and do our nails and other various girly things I suppose.

The other day at work, I had to teach a 10 year old girl to put contacts in. Young kids and older adults are the worst to teach. This girl took forever to even get the contact close enough to her eye for me to consider her dreadful as opposed to hopeless. All the while, she was dripping from every orifice on her face. It was worse than disgusting. Literally, for at least 5 whole minutes, she had this big, green, tear drop shaped bogie hanging in midair from her nose. I wanted to gag. Ew.

For the past couple of days, I have been completely addicted to WordFeud, essentially it is Scrabble. It's a Droid game that you can play between you and a friend. It is so much fun! I have won in every game against everyone other than my brother. For some reason, I can not beat the fool. I usually dominate in all non-video games against him, but I have yet to slaughter him with crafty words made by these pesky little tiles. It will happen one day, believe you me. When that day comes, I will tell the world. ;)

Um, we have been watching a movie so I've been writing and stopping in spurts. I think I'm done for today. Thanks for tuning in. :)

F I F T Y F O U R

Haven't done this in a while... 54, yo.

Sorry if I repeat anything from a previous facts post.

  1. I have an argyle print case on my Droid Incredible.
  2. In first grade, I was using the restroom we had in the back of the classroom and someone (a girl) walked in on me. Apparently, I forgot to lock the door. I was so embarrassed.
  3. The first animal (besides a dog) that I became very interested in was a polar bear.
  4. I used to watch Grey's Anatomy on the computer in Sandspurs during my free period.
  5. I once saw my dog's reflection in a mirror. (She had been dead for months.)
  6. Blakeley and I met two guys in Daytona that live not even an hour away from me now. It's a small world.
  7. My favorite teacher of all time is my 2nd grade teacher, Mrs. Chapman. She made me want to be a teacher. (Although, that is no longer my dream.)
  8. I have written part of a novel.
  9. I can't help but say "that's what she said" when the opportunity presents itself.
  10. I snore loudly, I'm told.

  13. I love the Disney Channel movies from my era; not the crap they produce these days.
  14. When I hear something thought provoking, funny, or clever, I think "I'm going to make that my status!" Admitted Facebook Nerd.
  15. When I was young, we had a dog named Scotty. Ash named him that because he looked similar to the Scotty dog she had on her sweater.
  16. Ash got to name every pet we had so when my mom got her an albino ferret for Christmas one year, I named it before Mom gave it to her. I named the ferret Jules because her pink eyes matched the pink jewels on her collar.
  17. I love to make desserts for people, though I don't do it often.
  18. I have never been out of the country.
  19. I seriously have the greatest family (extended family included) on Earth. I wouldn't trade them for anything in the world.

  26. I have just decided that I like wearing chipped fingernail polish. It's White Trash Chic.
  27. Reminiscing with old friends brings me joy.
  28. I have never been a cat person; in fact, I can't stand cats... but, little Hazo has stolen my heart. So, maybe I will have a cat one day, just so I can name it Lord Volde-- actually, I better refer to it as He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named... phew, that was a close call.

  33. One of my favorite things to do is to sit in a cafe style restaraunt/coffee shop with my Mac. Such a relaxing enviornment.

  42. Most of the time, I put my left contact lens in first in the morning and take my right one out first at night.
  43. My tongue is really short.
  44. When I was 7 or 8, I spent the night with a friend one Saturday night and realized the next day was Mother's Day. As we were going to sleep that night, I cried a little at the thought of not seeing my mom when I was going to wake up.
