The eagle's accent.

Hiya, guys! *waves incessantly*

I had a fantastic start to my work day... didn't even have to come in until 1:30. (Although, I came a little early.) I got to sleep in, take my time in the shower, actually put on make up, and had a muy delicioso lunch at Moes. Jealous aren't ya? ;)

I finally saw The Eagle last night. You know, the movie with Channing Tatum. *swoon* It was actually a really good movie, but there were several times Ash and I just couldn't help but laugh. First of all, the very first time Channing spoke, he had a deep British accent, which was funny because we know how he sounds normally. After a few minutes, we kind of got used to the idea. Second, the Romans had no accent at all... aren't they supposed to?! They sounded like Americans. Third, right before the first fight scene, Mr. Tatum lost his accent and sounded like his Step Up persona. He kept his normal American accent for pretty much the rest of the movie, except the one scene where he had a country twang. Finally, in one of the final scenes, he found his British accent again, just in time for his little speech. Fourth, the cows. If you have seen this movie and didn't notice them the first time, watch it again and notice the cows. They are hilarious. (walking through the water and in that large field... his horns are in his eyes and he is looking at the camera! haha) Fifth, as Channing and his slave are running through the woods, you hear dogs barking... that is when Ash turned to me and said, "Sounds like East Ridge!" Needless to say, I could have died from laughing so hard.

But don't get me wrong, we very much enjoyed the movie! It really was great, and Channing is definitely becoming stronger as an actor. I also very much liked the guy who played his slave... he wasn't too shabby on the eyes. :)

Speaking of movies, there are so many great films that are out or coming out that I can't wait to see: The Conspirator, Water for Elephants, Fast Five, Hangover Part II, Limitless, Rango, Source Code, Arthur, Soul Surfer, and Your Highness. I need to find someone that will help financially support my addiction. Movies are not cheap. If you would like to be that certain someone, message me... we could work something out. :P

New movies are not the only ones I am dying to see. I am starting to compile the list of movies I must see before I die with the help of a few resources:

If you have any suggestions of what should be on that list, please let me know! I need all the help I can get.

Hey, if you have a moment, I'd love for you to do this.

You guy are just lovely and I am so happy I got to see you today. :)

A little bit of everything.

Be kind,
for everyone you meet
is fighting a hard battle.
-Plato

Hm, I like starting with a random quote. I may do this more often.

What?! This is an actual update from the World of Cassie? ...so rare...so interesting...so past due!

I have no excuse for not updating. Almost every night for the past couple of weeks have been devoted to the complete series of Gilmore Girls (a birthday present from my sisters), which could have been watched while blogging. Oh, well. I just started season 6... two full seasons until the end! Because it's of importance of the kind of person I am: I am pro Jess, anti Dean; pro Luke, anti Christopher (or any other man for that matter); and although I am pro Jess, Logan is my favorite pick for Rory.

Other than that, I haven't been doing much lately, just hanging out with friends and working. It's not a glamorous life, but I am blessed with great friends, so I can't really complain about that.

I had a really bad stye under my eyelid for two straight days. It made my eye swell so that it would only open halfway, obscurring my vision and making me look like Rocky. ("Yo, Adrian!") It is finally getting better, but it is still a little swollen. Man, it hurt like Hades.

Ash and Jake had an incedent happen to them. Ash was cooking dinner and accidentally started a grease fire. If Jake hadn't walked in at that moment, the house would have caught fire. Jake got the fire under control and put out, but not without a few battle scars. His left arm, both of his hands, and the left side of his neck/face got burned. It wasn't severe, thank God, but it did do some damage. Poor Jake had to keep putting aloe on to soothe the burning sensation. God is healing him very quickly. This happened Saturday and he is so much better than before.

---

I wrote that yesterday and I wanted to separate that from today. It was a good day.

Being off of work always makes for a good day, but this was an especially great day off. Of course, I watched a few episodes of Gilmore Girls this morning while we had tile being put in the bathrooms, loudly I might add. Around lunch time, I went to my grandpa's and cleaned out my car. Finally. It was disgusting. I then drove to the car wash and gave LJ a good shower. He sure needed it. After, I vacuumed out the inside and now LJ is bright, shiny, and clean! I was proud.

I rewarded my excellence with trip to McKay's for a few good DvDs. That really put me in the mood to do something crafty. I had in mind exactly what I wanted to do, but the Walmart I went to didn't have what I needed, so I settled on the next best thing. (I may show you guys pictures in a future post.) I made it for Ash and she hasn't seen it yet, so I don't want to give it away right now, but I think it's pretty cool. I even made one for myself.

I decided that is what I want to do. I want to make things, decor type things. How awesome of a job would that be?!

Anyway, I ate with Leah at Moe's (YUM!) and then it was off to the movie with her and Chris. It is Wednesday which means dollar movie day at the cheap theater! One of the best inventions known to man. We saw The Tourist. Incredible movie. In the beginning, I was a little unsure about it but it got better as time went on. The twist is what made it great. Ah, I loved it!

This whole day has just been awesome. The weather was perfect, my spirits were high, and the company was excellent. I need more days like this one.

Mars, Stars, Cars and.... Harry Potter.

As each day passes, I grow more and more in love with Bruno Mars and his sexy voice. (However, I prefer not to look at him. He sounds better than he looks.) Haha. He is one of the better artists on the radio right now. I don't know why radio stations feel the need to play Lady Gaga, Ke$ha, and Rihanna over and over again. I wish they would disappear from the entertainment world altogether... move to Montana and become school teachers or something. They're beyond aggravating. It's the reason I prefer listening to my iPod in the car.

I am discovering some great stuff on my iPod that I didn't really know existed. Don't you just love that, hearing a song that has been in your reach for months and months and one day you just happened to listen to it and it completely blows you away? It's like I was the first ever to hear it, even though I know that is False. (Yes, with a capital f.) But still, I like discovering my own music.

In other entertainment news, I saw The Town last night per Cody's suggestion, and it was thrilling! I was on edge pretty much the entire movie. Ben Affleck - what a fine specimen. I knew he was good looking and all, but his kick-butt character in this film made me rethink the category I had him under. He personifies every girl's bad boy fantasy in The Town. I now want my own sweet but tough bank robber. :P

Speaking of bad boys with brooding muscles, the 5th installment of the Fast and the Furious franchise is coming out next year. In my opinion, there are one too many of these films. Don't get me wrong, I absolutely love them (with the exception of Tokyo Drift) with every movie-thriving-fiber that I have, but I don't want them to run this franchise into the ground. Know what I mean?

Anyway, I do have to say that this new one, Fast Five, looks action packed, thrilling, and downright awesome. Hopefully, though, this will be the last. I am excited to see that everyone, and I mean everyone, has returned to be in this film! Vin Diesel. Need I say more? ;) Paul Walker - the charm of a boy with the rebel without a cause attitude. Gotta love that. Tyrese Gibson - one of my favorite comic relief characters of all time. Funny, funny man. And, of course, the others have returned as well. The Rock is also in this one. I am not too sure how I feel about that. I kind of wished they would have brought in a name that is not as widely known, but whatev. It will be epic no matter what.

In unrelated news, my week definitely improved when my brotha got in town yesterday. He always knows how to brighten my day. We exchanged our Christmas presents and I would have to say that he won the "Best Present Ever Given" award. I gave him the Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows XBox 360 game, which is a pretty nice gift... but he gave me a Harry Potter Film Wizardry book. It. Is. Amazing. It holds information about the entire film franchise and the wizarding world itself as seen through Jo Rowling's eyes. There is a sketch of an aerial view of Hogwarts and the surrounding areas that was drawn by Jo in one of the first meetings with the producers and directors. There are also inserts including the Marauder's Map, Yule Ball invitation, Quidditch World Cup Programme, and an acceptance letter to Hogwarts School. I am taking my time and carefully reading every single word because this world of magic really does have me under a spell. What would we be without our imagination and the ability to dream? I hold this series very close to my heart. Being able to explore the world in this way brings me joy. :)

If I don't see you all before then, I hope you all have an amazing Christmas! Don't forget the reason for the season.
Jesus is love.

NaNoWriMo Day 19 & All Kinds of Magic

Yesterday was my day off so I had all day to write, and once again, I was a slacker. I mean, I did write a bunch, but not nearly as much as I should have. But, I do have a legitimate excuse... it was the Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows part 1 premier! I was too excited to write. :P

Ash, Jake, and I went to dinner with Emily before we went to the theater. We went to Moe's (YUM!) and since it was Thursday night, the illusionist was there. (He is there every Thursday from 6-8 or 6-9... can't remember right now.) He just completely blew my mind.  He placed a single red, squishy ball in my hand and counted to three for me to open it and when I did, there were two balls! I kid you not, while he was counting, I could feel the second ball forming in my hand. He uses this stuff as his ministry so I am pretty sure he has Jesus magic. (Like, Jesus literally helps him do what he does.) There was no other explanation for it. It was amazing. If you have a Thursday night that you're free, go to Moe's on Gunbarrel in Chattanooga, he is awesome.

After dinner, we had an hour and a half to kill before 10:00, which was when we were planning to go to the theater. So we went to Walmart and looked around a bit, then we headed to the theater for the two hour wait to see HP7.

Usually with premiers, we have to wait in the lobby forever until they actually let us into a theater, but as soon as we got there, they seated us in theater 4. It was much more organized and way less chaotic, but I actually enjoy waiting in the lobby and people watching, especially when people dress up... and these people were dressed up. But no worries, we actually had a fun group of people in our theater. There were about 10-15 teenagers who were playing different games in that open space between the front row and the screen. They started out with ninja, then went on to charades (which the whole audience got involved in), and they played a few other games I wasn't too familiar with. It was entertaining.

The movie itself was incredible. It was epic, it was dark, it was perfect. My body was literally tensed up the entire time. I was so nervous that at certain points, I realized I was holding my breath... I had to make myself breathe. It was that intense. I don't really want to say anymore than that about it because it really is something you have to see for yourself. This really is the most amazing movie franchise ever, I will be sad to see it end next July.

It was 2:30 am by the time the movie ended. I was too wired to go to bed right away when I got home, so I wrote for a while. I wrote over 1,000 words to be more precise. Watching that movie made me just want to keep writing all night, I suppose it gave me inspiration. After a while though, I had to go to bed because I have work today. But even so, for going to be around 4, I am not even tired. Crazy, huh?

I am going to write tonight, of coure, but to make sure I don't get too distracted, I am having Ashley be with me to watch my every move so that I write without ceasing. She knows how to control her sister. :P

S10BL: Twilight Saga's: Eclipse

Well, we didn't dress up like we wanted to, but Ashley, Emily, Katie, and I did go to the midnight premier of Eclipse last night.

The movie was amazing! It is the best movie yet of the saga. Eclipse stayed truer to the book then the others did. It also had a smoother flow and feel.

Kristen, Rob, and Taylor did an exceptional job playing their roles. Their love triangle had just the right amount of intensity and the dynamics of the group was dead on. Jackson Rathbone (Jasper) finally came into his own in this sequel. He was adorable; especially the way he was with Ashley Greene (Alice). Nikki Reed (Rosalie) also did a fantastic job. She really is the perfect Rosalie. Both Jasper and Rosalie got to share their past to Bella. The viewers who haven't read the books got to know a little more about these vampires and their stories are quite interesting... even more so in the book, though. (I suggest you read them if you haven't already :D) Dakota Fanning played Jane flawlessly. She was dark, terse, and unforgiving - just as Jane should be.

The movie brought back all the feelings I had when I read the book for the first time. Director David Slade knows how to capture attention and emotion and he was, by far, the best director of this saga.

The last book, Breaking Dawn, will be split into two movies and I cannot wait to see how they portray everything that happens. I won't give anything away for those who have not read it, but you will be thoroughly surprised. The first installment of the final book will not be released until November 2011, so we have to wait about a year and a half - bummer.

The next movie to immensely look forward to is Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. Part I comes out November 2010; Part II - July 2011. I know we will not be disappointed.

What did you think of Twilight Saga's: Eclipse?
